I wanna fly...

“起床,起床”7am 我叫醒孩子,
“A? ”看见Clarence 坐在床上,手遮住脸,低着头...
“Clarence? Why? what happen to you?”
"It's OK darling, can you let mummy know what's your problems?"
"I want to go Cameron Highland with Harn and Yin jie jie"...

Mama' s Zongzi

My mom will turn eighty seven this week.
Today, I'm so happy that she accompanied me to wrap the rice dumplings ...
Just like those days when i was small watching the adults busy wrapping rice dumplings and kids like us playing aside waiting to eat the delicious bak zhang only :)
But, I'm thinking ..how is she able to remember how to wrap it? coz mom has forgotten lot's of things recently..
Wow! Unexpectedly...
She wrapped a little cute dumpling for me , so sweet.. I'm very touch..
" that's  for me,  I'm going to eat my mom's dumpling later hehe.. :) .."
Ma.., you're still so strong! I wish to be like you when I'm at your age...
Happy Day friends :) eat zongzi la!!

Clarence @ ChildAid 2012 Singapore -Holding His Hand

The Straits Times 19 - 11 - 12
By Ang Yiying

As a child, Clarence Kang started playing the piano on his own without formal lessons because he did not allow someone else to touch the instrument while he was playing it.

He has come a long way since. Now 14, he will be performing at this year's ChildAid concert. The audience will also hear a song composed by the autistic Malaysian boy's mother and sung by his relative Tricia Teo, 14, who brought him to the attention of ChildAid organisers at the auditions in June.

For her audition piece, Tricia, a St Margaret's Secondary School student, sang Hold My Hand, which was inspired by Clarence and written by his mother Joyce Lim. Madam Lim is Tricia's grandaunt.

Says ChildAid artistic director Iskandar Ismail, 56, one of the judges at the auditions: "It was touching... We didn't know it's an original composition. It was a coincidence that we asked about the background of the song."

Tricia then showed a clip of Clarence playing the piano, which impressed the panel of judges who invited him to perform at the concert.

Says Iskandar: "He can play the piano very well. This shows everyone that talent has no boundaries."

At ChildAid, Clarence will play Flight Of The Bumblebee and also accompany Tricia in her performance of Hold My Hand on the piano, along with strings from the orchestra.

Tricia says: "It's really awesome. Clarence can play really well. I've always wanted to perform with him."

Madam Lim, 48, recalls that Clarence, the youngest of her three children, liked to hold on to her hand since he was young, even when she was driving.

Says the owner and principal of a music centre with three branches in Kuala Lumpur: "I could feel his insecurity."

Part of the lyrics of her song go: "Can you hear? Do you care?/To hold my hand and walk with me to lead my way/Close my eyes, I can feel/With all your love to fill my heart you make me strong."

Madam Lim explains: "This is supposed to be the inner voice of autistic kids. I hope the public will understand them because they do have a lot of feelings, but it's difficult for them to express them verbally."

The song has been performed by the National Autism Society of Malaysia (Nasom) Maestros, a choir of autistic children which Clarence is part of.

She also hopes the song will encourage parents of autistic children to find out their strengths and support them.

According to her, Clarence's affinity for music was apparent when he was two years old. He liked to sit around the digital piano, later learning to play it on his own, playing by memory and improvising songs.

His refusal to let someone else touch the piano when he was playing it meant that it was difficult to give him formal guidance. Only at 10 did he finally receive formal training.

Since then, he has staged a piano recital last December at PJLA Jaya One theatre in Kuala Lumpur, where he played 15 songs from memory and his mother sang Hold My Hand, and also at charity events.

Madam Lim says she tries to let Clarence accept as many invitations to perform at charity events as he can manage.

"I feel it's meaningful to let society know about special children, to understand, to care and to give them more opportunities."

Other ChildAid acts this year include pop song-and-dance items, performances by budding classical musicians and dance pieces in genres from ballet to hip-hop.

Proceeds from ChildAid will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which helps children from low-income families with their school-related expenses, and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, a programme under The Old Parliament House which gives an arts education to underprivileged but artistically gifted kids.

Somewhere beyond the clouds beyond the rain there are a thousand rainbows

Wow !!!
Didn't expect to see a double rainbow on a day I least expected too...
My second son was sick and I still brought Clarence for swimming lessons...

Last Friday , when I was taking some picture of Clarence after his swimming lessons ( as usual ) , a beautiful scene suddenly appear from the sky !!
The sky slowly turned into grey and two rainbows appear right in front my eyes !!
I was amazed :)

Then , it started to rain , which was followed by strong wind , lightning and thunder !!
I went to rush Clarence up from the pool and Guess what ?

Too late !! I was already wet ! My hair , my clothes , my slippers !!
I can't believe this...as the Chinese saying goes : 天有不测风云 ( the weather can be extremely unpredictable ) ..
and to make matters worst , Clarence kept me waiting outside the Gent's bathroom for over an hour !! ( HE was taking his own sweet time enjoying his bath ) ..

I got worried that maybe he do not know how to come out or so...
I kept asking anyone who enters the bathroom to see whether my son is in...
Thank God a kind gentleman helped me to ask Clarence to come out and brought him to me ...

Lesson learnt ...
Thought sometimes life can be difficult ,
but God is always there to help us through...

God places people in your life , ( or it can be just random people ) ..
to help you when you least expected too..

To all readers ,
Don't be discouraged when you are met with the challenges of life ,
because when the storm subsides ,
the weather will be clear and calm again :)
and when you are lucky , you will be greeted with a rainbow

Clarence's very first facial :D

" Do u want facial?' I asked Clarence
"Facial?"  he repeat after me.

At the age 13 now, I felt that I should teach him about skin care and the knowledge of maintaining a clean and  better complexion. So, we decide to go Herbaline . Well, I have my monthly facial done there. The atmosphere is amazing with reasonable price ( especially for RM38  for first timers ) Can u believe that ???
Let's take a look at the process and the experience :D

Let the story begins :

Today , I brought Clarence to Herbaline , Pandan Indah for his very first facial :)
At first,  I wasn't sure if he will scream when they remove his blackheads or pimples..

However , he was really steady and did not scream during his session :)

During Consultation with Carol Jie Jie
Who was kind enough to allow me to take pictures of Clarence and the whole facial process :)
Clarence's pampering his feet with a salt feet wash XD
Then adjourned to inhale aromatic and healthy scent of herbs :) Amazing :)
Then ,
The facial session starts !!!
Carol was kind enough to apply moisturizer on Clarence's face ( since Clarence face is dry ) without any extra charge :)
Removing dead skins from Clarence's face :)
The painful moment !! removing pimples and blackheads !!! AHHHHHH !!!!
Clarence's impurities on his face !!! ( gross right?? )
After that , it's mask time :) ( to kill off excess bacteria and soothe the skin :)
Clarence sleeping XD
Clarence after the facial :D :D
Showing that he is satisfied with the service :D
Up for a second time next month ? haha :D
I will ask him about that XD
